Defence[Type]

Interaction - Same, Highest

Effects - Character has a +1 AC against the Type listed beside the name.

If a character has multiple Defences against the same Type, these stack - a Dwarf with Defence IV against Giants gets a +4 AC against Goblins. If they then get Giantguard, a Shield that also has a Defence against Giants, this becomes Defence V [Giants], meaning they gain a +5 AC against them.

If an enemy has multiple types that correspond to the character's Defences, the character uses only the highest. If the Dwarf also has Defence II [Fire] and fights a Fire Giant, they use the +5 bonus instead of improving it to +7.

This is considered a Circumstantial Bonus.
