Characters can potential increase their Attribute Scores. The form this takes can be from Development or Special.

Developmental Attribute Gain

Developmental Attribute Gain comes from increasing a character's Level. Character's use their highest class level to determine Attribute Gain in this manner, whether they are single, multi or dualclassed.. These modifications are applied to the Base Attribute Score in addition to the normal Attribute Score.

The rate and application of Attribute Gain depends on the Adventure Style.

Traditional Adventures

In Traditional adventures, Characters do not gain Attribute Points from Development.

Heroic Adventures

In Heroic Adventures, heroes grow more capable as they gain experience but are limited by the capacity of their mortal forms.

Every 4th Level, the character gains 1 Attribute point. They may spend this on any attribute but their maximum Attribute Score is 18/00, not including any racial modifiers. For example, an Elf can have an Intelligence of 18, a Dexterity of 19 or a Constitution of 17.

If the Character has no Attribute they wish to improve, they may convert this Attribute point into 3 Bonus Points, which can be spent on Weapons, Skills, Traits or Languages.

Epic Adventures

In Epic Adventures, as heroes grow more capable and powerful, they may transcend the normal boundaries of other mortals.

Every 4th Level, the character gains 1 Attribute point. They may spend this on any attribute but their maximum Attribute Score is 18/00, not including any racial modifiers. Every 10th level, the maximum Attribute Score they may have is increased by 1, up to a maximum of 25. For example, an Elf can have an Intelligence of 18, a Dexterity of 19 or a Constitution of 17 at Level 1, but at Level 10, this becomes a possible Intelligence of 19, a Dexterity of 20 or a Constitution of 18.

If the Character has no Attribute they wish to improve, they may convert this Attribute point into 3 Bonus Points, which can be spent on Weapons, Skills, Traits or Languages.

Special Attribute Gain

Special Attribute Gain generally comes from outside the character, usually magical sources (Wishes, Tomes and such like) or bestowed upon them by gods. This is on a case by case basis; the DM may rule that they can gain no more from a specific source. These, like Racial Modifiers and unlike Developmental Attribute Gain, do not modify Base Attribute scores.

This cannot increase an Attribute beyond 25. As Developmental Gain may increase a character's Attribute Scores in Heroic and Epic Adventures, it is recommended that Players record any permanent attribute modifications from these.
