Mobility (Derived Attribute)

Mobility refers to how fast the character can move by default.

Base Move

This determines the Base Move of the character - how fast they move around in general and how they do so. A number is listed, followed by a Movement Type and a Movement Style. A character can have several Base Moves for different methods of movement; a winged character might have Base Move 12, 6 (Flying, Slow Flyer).

Base Move represents a number of (usually) 1 inch tiles. Each tile represents 5 feet of movement - thus a character with a Base Move of 12 would, without any adjustments, move 12 tiles (60 feet) if they use a Full Move action. Consider moving diagonally to be 1.5 tiles.

Movement Type

Movement Type determine the manner in which the character moves - if nothing is listed for it, assume the Base Move describes movement on land. Other possibilities include Swimming, Flying and Burrowing.

Movement Style

After Movement Type is listed Movement Style - if nothing is listed for it, assume the Base Move describes Basic Movement. Other possibilities include Bestial Movement or the specific forms of Flight - Unlimited Flight, Hovering, Flyer, Slow Flyer or Clumsy Flyer.

Move Modifiers

By default, Move is adjusted by modifiers from Strength and Dexterity, though other modifiers may be applied, typically from magical items. These modifiers are applied to Base Move to determine Full Move.

A character with Base Move 12, 6 Strength and 17 Dexterity receives a -1 from Strength and +2 from Dexterity. This means their Full Move, by default, would be 13, and their Half Move 6.5.

Full Move

This represents the number of Move Points the character receives when they make a Full Move.

Half Move

This represents the number of Move Points the character receives when they make a Half Move.
